How to Wear Statement T-Shirts with Style at any Age

We promised to talk this week about ‘how to wear statement t-shirts with style at any age.’  To do that, in a nutshell, all you need do is look at Elon Musk.  He was in the Oval Office at the White House wearing a dress jacket over a black T-Shirt which read, “TECH SUPPORT” and another day he wore "The DogeFather" along with a ball cap.  Even the President now wears a ball cap to many occasions.

If Elon Musk can do that in the Oval Office, then you can carry off the T-Shirt look absolutely anywhere.  It requires only the right accessories and the right attitude.  Really, the best accessory is what Elon did – wear a dress jacket over the T-Shirt, and make people wonder, or ask, about your T-Shirt and what it says.  If you keep the jacket unbuttoned and let those around you sneak just enough of a peek that they become curious, then you have succeeded magnificently in carrying off the look with the T-Shirt.

The second part is more difficult for the older generations.  You need the right attitude.  When I was young, I cared a lot about what other people thought of me.  I thought I valued their opinions and judgements.  Then, as I got older, I realized that I didn’t care what other people thought of me.  The only important judgement was that which I rendered to myself.

Now that I’m old, I realize that all those other people weren’t judging me.  They never did judge me because they never cared about my wardrobe. Oh… If I only knew then what I know now.  They don’t care what I wear.  Nobody cares what I wear, as long as I can pull off the look with confidence.  That is the great secret….

Confidence.  Carry that with you at all times and you will look absolutely great in a T-shirt at any occasion other than your daughter’s wedding.  Even there, though, if you have the prerequisite level of confidence, a statement T-shirt under a tuxedo could be very interesting.  It would at least spark interesting conversations at an otherwise predictable event…

So trust me when I say, especially to the Baby Boomers – You can wear a statement T-Shirt ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.  Take a look at our Mighty Shirt Catalog and don’t just pick out one.  Pick out one for each day of the week because T-Shirts are now as universal as Levi’s.

I haven’t decided what next week’s topic will be.  It may be ball caps for adults for any occasion. You’ll just have to tune in and see!
